What is Hack To The Rescue: Generative AI?
Hack To The Rescue: Generative AI is the largest Generative AI hackathon for good aimed at finding the best solution for non-profits to solve their most pressing, real-world challenges and reach one million more people. Tech companies will form teams that will compete over the course of the two-day event for prizes up to 10000+ that will be donated to the charity of the winners choice.
Who can participate in Hack To The Rescue?
Hack To The Rescue is open to all tech companies who have teams of people over the age of 18 that would like to work together to create real change in just two days.
All you need is an eagerness to use AI to create a solution that will help make the world a better place. Obviously, you can be a programmer, UXer, graphic designer, or business developer, but you dont have to be. Everyone is welcome!
How are teams created?
Companies form teams of 1-6 people. There can be more than one team from each company, and each team can choose which challenge they want to work on.
Individuals joining the hackathon are welcome to build their own teams with other individuals. Connections can be made in dedicated team-building Discord channel.
Im an individual. Can I still sign up?
Yes!
You can either engage your team in case youre an employee in a bigger organisation or form a tream with other individuals joining our event.

Why should I participate in Hack To The Rescue?
Participating in Hack To The Rescue empowers you to help solve nonprofits most pressing challenges using the most cutting edge advancements in Generative AI. In just two days, you can create a solution that will have a massive impact on the lives of more than one million people.
When is the hackathon?
The hackathon starts at 9:30 AM CET on June 14 and solutions need to be submitted by 1 PM CET on June 15. Winners will be announced on Thursday, June 15, at 6:45 PM CET.

What coding languages should we use?
Teams are free to build solutions using technologies and strategies they consider most suitable, though the use of Generative AI will be required. To give all teams the same chance to prepare for challenges, all details will be disclosed on the day of the event.
TEAMS
How are teams created?
Companies form teams of 1-6 people. There can be more than one team from each company, and each team can choose which challenge they want to work on.
All individual participants will be invited to a dedicated Discord channel and form teams on the first day of the event.
How many teams can my company sign up for the event?
There is no limit to the number of teams from the same company, as long as each team has between 1-6 members.
We have a team, now what?
Make sure you not only registered the team but also each individual team member. We share all details on the process with Team Leads in the sign-up confirmation email. After your team and all team members are registered - the real fun begins!
Read the requirements of the challenge you want to work on; if you agree with them, proceed. If youre lost or unsure what to do, contact our mentors through Discord channels and ask for advice!
Please remember, that all of the team members have to create their Discord accounts Discord IDs are required to upload the project to Challenge Rocket. More details are shared with registered participants prior to event.
Can I join more than one team?
Unfortunately its not possible. One person can be a member of only one team.
Can I change teams during the hackathon?
Sure, you can change your team as many times as you want, as long as your new team is within your company. If your company registered more than one team, you can change internally.
Can I add new members to the team?
Yes, as long as your team has a maximum of six members. You can also change team members in case someone wont be able to participate. In that case register new member via our Team Member Signup Form access shared with you in private and inform us about the switch at hackathontechtotherescue.org
Can I remove someone from the team?
Yes, as long as your team has a minimum of one member.
CHALLENGES
What are the challenges?
Challenges are the problems participating nonprofits have identified. Your task during the hackathon is to develop a solution to the challenge and present it to a panel of judges at the end of the event.

Technical requirements of all tasks will be published at the start of event, to give all teams equal chances.
How will the judges evaluate the teams?
The solutions proposed by teams will be evaluated by a panel consisting of at least two designated judges per competition. The winners will be selected by majority vote and will be based on the solutions innovation, usefulness, completeness, safety, quality, and ease of implementation and maintenance.

Who owns the rights to what we create?
IP rights will be transferred to the nonprofit who created the challenge you worked on. Projects will be published using either an open-source license or an indefinite free license if the company consents.
Do I need to present my idea?
You will need to prepare presentation and working demo of your challenge. Only finalists in each challenge will be pitching their solutions to the Jury between 3-4 PM CET on June 15th.
